Grace for the Radical

Grace for the Radical

Ever been lost? Ever been lost and not realize that you're lost? We don't usually think about it this way, but there is a distinct difference between being lost and feeling lost. You could almost make the point that you are even more lost when you don't feel lost because you don't know you're lost.

In Luke 15, Jesus addresses two different groups of people by telling a very simple, yet profound story about a man who has two sons. It is a parable that has traditionally come to be known as The Parable of the Prodigal Son, but this title really doesn't capture the primary message Jesus wants to communicate. He starts the story off by saying, "There was a man who had two sons." Each son represented one of two groups of people. The first group was lost and knew they were lost. The second group was lost and didn't know they were lost. The big question facing you and me today is "In which group do I find myself?"
