There is a distinct difference between “spending” and being “spent”. The idea of spending means that we have access to plenty of resources that can be used. We aren’t worried or anxious about it because we have margin. We live with the idea that we have been blessed to be a blessing. However, when you change a few letters in the word it changes the meaning entirely. The concept of being spent has a very different feel to it. That word carries with it the exhaustion of being used up and the pressure of feeling you may not have enough. When we get upside down financially, it always impacts us spiritually. Scripture has much to say about this subject and ultimately how we can turn things around from feeling spent to being blessed to spend.
