The Ignition Mix

The Ignition Mix

About the show

Playing tracks by

Daft Punk, Suuns, Public Service Broadcasting, Abba, The cure and more.

Another simple mix before the big one. This is a handful of songs I listened to during this summer, besides Seven Stars which is just there for the "ignition"! *wink wink*

I really like how the first three tracks follow one another, it's quite uplifting. Then The Cure. Then it calms. Then it gets uplifting again. "So Long..." is an easy choice ofcourse, but I discovered that this summer so here it is. I switched Pagoda's "Warzone" with Touch before finishing. Warzone was too aggressive IMO.

Spitfire, Visitors, Another Journey By Train, and Edie's Dream discovered thanks to Mixcloud :)
"So Long..." is from The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy movie.

Wow I really like this a lot! I haven´t even heard that ABBA song before, and I am from fucking Sweden, how is that even possible ha ha.. Or maybe when I was young and did not bother. But my GOD it´s is a good one! Good work man!

I'v used The Seven Stars in a rather different context, and it does sound absolutely uplifting here and goes so smoothly not only with the next two songs, but in fact I find the whole show very fine in that way, for one. It also contains great surprises to me like the ABBA song heard between its neighbors here, or that train song by The Cure shortly after I've used another one of them. Not to mention this cool interpretation of Tanze Samba mit mir :) and even the closure goes so great with it though something completely different. But the way you hear them here together they are actually meant to sound like that. It does open up a new horizon for your ears. Love your minimix and looking forward to hear the big one. There certainly is more fish where these came from :) So long and thanks a lot!
