Jazz Warriors

Playing tracks by

Jazz Warriors, Dennis Rollins Velocity Trio, Jean Toussaint, Ike Leo and Acacia, Jazz Jamaica All Stars and more.

The Jazz Warriors were an all-black collective of jazz musicians that appeared on the scene in 1986. The band manifested from the Abibi Jazz Arts - an organisation that promoted black music. The Jazz Warriors provided a springboard for stellar talents, such as Courtney Pine, Steve Williamson, Orphy Robinson and many more. The original band only released a single album - 1987's "Out of Many, One People" - although the group remained (more or less) intact until 1994. This mix features tracks by the Jazz Warriors and their glittering alumni.

The Courtney Pine tracks included I have among my albums.... Thanks my brother for giving some joy amidst the fear of such powerful energy Love ya mate : )
