This show was 22nd in the global vinyl chart, 33rd in the global breaks chart and 65th in the global beats chart.
The 2nd - probably the best - part of the series (1st part here: http://www.mixcloud.com/tomanek/the-berlin-files-part-1-start-from-the-library ). OK, Ethiopia is actually not within the Middle East, but Alemayehu Esheté's songs pass somehow to the Turkish delights.
- Ersen's music. Dünden Bugüne is one of the best records I've ever bought. Probably his 1st LP - actually a compilaton of his many 7"s released before 1977, but man, what an amazing music! If you see that reissue under ~20 euros buy it immediately, without any hesitation.
- Move On Up. Had two sunny Saturdays in Berlin, when at the recordstore Franz & Joseph there was a big outlet sale. On both accessions LP Curtis was on the girls' record player. (Yes, there were girls, not that old a*hole.) Was nice to dig to that music.
For many years I have always a great time at Easter Monday, playing always a longer set in the radio. Now it was even more special. Loved it, after coming home for a longer break.
