Pursuing her education in filmmaking at Wayne State University in Detroit 2009, she filmed her first documentary entitled “Mr. B’s Joy Box Express.” the story of a musician, who traveled across Michigan with a baby grand piano attached to his bike, and collects money for charity. This story sparked her interest in documentaries and social issues.
In 2011, Ms. Brugnone joined The Michigan Creative Film Alliance a collaborative effort between three of Michigan’s universities, designed to keep Michigan Film Makers in Michigan.
During her first year with the MiCFA she served as Co-Producer, Unit Production Manager and Location Manager of the 2011 production Beauty Queen of which has won a Silver Award at The Blue Water Film Festival and a Bronze Plaque Award at the Columbia International Film Festival.
Currently Ms.Brugnone is the Producer of The MiCFA third production “Downriver” expected to premiere in the spring of 2013.
