Papua New Guinean born, DJ Fowax began his musical career in the misty mountains of snowdonia providing downbeat/ hip hop for the'speakeazy nights, but aslo dj'n Jazz sessions for the Poetica (poetry and spoken word) night put on by now poet laureate for Wales Martin Daws). He has contributed a number of nights out at Hendre Hall under the banner of Byd Mawr who have brought some giants of the world music scene including the likes of the Mighty Diamonds, Macka B and Johnny Clarke. His most recent endeavours have included being part of the Jah Bar Soundsystem who provide a mix of funk, reggae, dancehall and dub and providing online podcasts for Radio Fowax.
He is influenced by DJ's such as Norman Jay and Gilles Peterson and provides an eclectic mix of tunes. Expect a wide range of genres from Jazz, funk, soul, reggae, dub and even a bit of drum n bass!
