Lake Ontario may not be the cleanest of the Great Lakes, but it's not going to kill you.
While history would tell us that Lake Ontario is unsafe to swim in, The City of Toronto has taken big steps to fight the stigma about swimming at Toronto’s 11 public beaches. Toronto Public Health conducts daily water quality tests from June 1 to Aug. 31 every year.
