As the 1960s drew to a close, popular music began to fragment. Rock & Roll was coming in to it's own and and had grown into an FM radio format. AM radio had to find a new audience - and with the help of many of the producers and songwriters that grew of the early 1960's Brill Building era, some came up with the idea of appealing to the pre-teen audience with simple lyrics and catchy melodies-thus Bubblegum music was born. During this program we'll peruse a small handful of the genre's best known and obscure gems.
