Playing tracks by

Bruce Cameron Jazz Ensemble, Fumio Itabashi, Pat Britt, Kazuo Yashiro Trio, Michel Magne and more.

Jazz Meet resident (and Mukatsuku Records boss) Nik Weston is up this week, as he dropped this little selection off just before he boarded a plane to Japan. While he's away in the Land of the Rising Sun, come join us as we dip in his record collection and rediscover some gems he's currently got under lock and key. We kick things off with the Bruce Cameron Jazz Ensemble and 'Love Is On The Way', the superb vocal jazz fusion masterpiece with the dope intro... a long wait for some but hold tight as the drop is worth it. We then slip into some jazz from Japan, this time around from the original master and his oh so funky jazz band, Fumio Itabashi. A little Pat Britt follows, before we hit the piano driven jazz of the Kazuo Yashihiro Trio and some soundtrack bizness from Michel Magne. A late date from Milt Jackson and Monty Alexander, a Donald Byrd jazz funk classic and a stunning piano composition from Joe Sample round us off. We hope you enjoy!
