Playing tracks by

The Greg Foat Group, Rise, Hannibal and the Sunrise Orchestra, Sean Khan, Matthew Halsall and more.

New week, new mix. This week, Jazz Meet resident steps up to deliver a pensive selection of deep instrumental jazz. Beginning with 'Time Piece 2 (Epilogue)' from The Greg Foat Group (taken from the debut LP out on Jazzman Records next month), Julian 'Cannonball' Adderley (re-edited by Rise) then announces the arrival of Hannibal and the Sunrise Orchestra and their own imitable take on Errol Garner's 'Misty'. Brand new music from Sean Khan and Matthew Halsall, before we hit the frenzied drum and sax interplay of the epically percussive 'De I Comahlee Ah' from Jackie McLean and Michael Carvin. Detroit legend Phil Ranelin, alongside Henry Franklin and Big Black, weighs in with some 'Perseverance' before Gil Scott-Heron, Brian Jackson and a Kenny Drew trio date close us out.

The Jazz Meet Live returns this coming Sunday as the collective (including Rob and Nik) drop into The Shoreditch E1 for another full day of live jazz, drinks and dancing.

The Jazz Meet

Thanks Michael. Yes, been a strong first quarter on the jazz front this year. Looking forward to hearing the Nicola Conte record.

The Hedonist

Great minds play alike...
All my current favs.. The Greg Foat Group, Rise and Matthew Halsall.
What a pity that neither of us could include the new Nicola Conte track featuring Jose James & Nailah Porter.
Hopefully no more than few more weeks to wait
