A mental health organisation has employed a case worker to help flood affected people in Tasmania's north-west. Rural Alive and Well's new worker will provide support for the next six months for those recovering from June's devastating floods.
Grants of up to $10,000 for farmers cleaning up after the floods have just become available to a group who've missed out. Farmers in the Launceston municipality which includes people farming around Lilydale, Nunamara, Whitehills, and Blessington can now apply for the disaster assistance.

A Tasmanian woman is now sitting atop the National Rural Women's Coaltion. From her base in Wynyard Alwyn Friedersdorff has recently been appointed President of the organisation.
