Apocalypse - The Idea of The End. Episode 3: We Are All Made of Stars

Apocalypse - The Idea of The End. Episode 3: We Are All Made of Stars

In this concluding episode science, politics, literature and mythology collide. I'm talking to Dr Harry Cliff, Particle Physicist at London's Science Museum and interpreter or CERN's Large Hadron Collider; Asad Rehman, policy and campaign lead on Climate Change for Friends of the Earth; and authors SF Said and Marcus Sedgwick. What role does Mythology play in warning us where threats lie? What are the real cosmological threats to us? Will we be eaten by a ravenous black hole or blasted by a solar flare? And, despite the fact that we already have the technology to produce clean energy, who is it who holds power so tightly that we keep delaying its wide-spread use? Will the fine balance of the universe tip and destroy us all - or will be destroy ourselves? Homo homini lupus est. Man is the wolf to man.
