Talk of the Town #4 - How Can You Say You Love Me

Playing tracks by

Black Earth Plus, Ray Frazier & The Shades Of Madness, Chuck Carbo, Harvey Scales, Roy Thompson and more.

A few classic, rare & overlooked 45s specifically for your ears, kicking off with Milwaukee's own Black Earth Plus, whose lead singer unfortunately passed away earlier this month. Do check out the MIGHTILY slept on "Sing My Song" by Dennis Landry. If you haven't heard that one yet, better jump on it as it's due to change from a $20 record to $200 record in a blink. Hopefully you can suffer through my rather beat-up Jimmy Wilson copy that I extracted from a dollar bin over the weekend (but have Never seen anywhere else) so you can hear the angelic sweet soul ballad from the legendary Brothers of Soul.

100% originals. Hope you enjoy.

Such a great set. "The Yolk" gets me every time. Never heard that El Shobey cut before. Really dig that one! Groovy as hell.

Always great hearing your records. A real treat for sure.

Peace and SOUL... HSB

Interesting... your copy of the Truetones was mixed with light echo. I have a vinyl rip that was mixed with much heavier echo. I wonder how that happened. I like yours better though, because the voices come off much crisper. Great mix so far, can't wait to hear the rest... thanks as always for the good records :)

Peace and blessings.

really enjoyed the show mate, yeah you are right, the dennis landry is spot on, never gonna be a big money 45 as its to easy to get but what a tune, new to me, used to see it all the time though, just thought it was funky, loved the joneses and the jimmy wilson, yet more records i need,,,,,doh!!....then i forgot the ringleaders was on my wants list years ago as well, bloody records will be the death of me....blinding stuff though, you got your head screwed on the right way!!..
