Welcome to Doug Lynner’s World of Noise. I am Doug Lynner, aka Synthesizerman, and tonight’s show is about the golden age of the Moog Synthesizer - 1967 to 1971. Why those years? Although the Moog Modular Synthesizer began development in 1963, 1967 was the year the first production units were released and the year it broke into popular music. On the back side, 1971 was the year that the Minimoog established itself as the keyboard synthesizer of choice in the popular music world ending the Moog Modular’s short reign as THE synthesizer.
