Michael Upton has been making electronic music since 1993, first releasing under the name Jet Jaguar in 1996. He has gone on to release 4 albums and 2 EPs under that name, the latest CD, ‘Four‘, independently released on 1st July 2012. Get it here.
Raised in Wellington, New Zealand, Michael also spent 4 years in Melbourne and 2 in Tokyo, gigging in both cities and collaborating where he could. He has played support for Prefuse 73 (USA), Monolake (Germany), and Tim Koch (Australia).
On top of a mountain of remixes for other artists and his solo work as Jet Jaguar, Michael has released music as a member of Montano, Malty Media, Patio, The Dub Connection, and Datsun Stereo. ‘Jet Jaguar is Love’ and Montano’s self-titled album were included in music writer Grant Smithies’ book of essential New Zealand albums, ‘Soundtracks’.
