Suki Chan in conversation with Pamela Kember about her work at The Wapping Project, London as part of ‘Undiscovered Landscapes’ a series of exhibitions of artists’ film from five international film makers.
Pamela Kember is a lecturer in Fine Art Theory at Chelsea College of Art &Design, and PhD Candidate at the University of the Art London. Her thesis relates to transnational identity, migration, and nationhood for artists from Hong Kong. She has contributed to a range of academic journals, and catalogues on contemporary artists from Asia.
Suki Chan was born in Hong Kong and currently lives and works in London. Her practice combines light, moving image and sound within mixed-media installations to explore physical and psychological experiences of space through simple, repetitive and sometimes painstaking processes, abstracting familiar materials and objects, to create imaginary and uncanny narratives.
