yes, the sax is not for everyone - and even for some signals the purity of rock degenerating into the inauthenticity of new wave or post-punk. and yet it is the sax that arguably both allowed punk to be 'more than' rock while blending its genre conventions with the most innovative and spontaneous sides of others, whether jazz, funk, noise/art, or pop. some classics and some new tracks here that evidence the wide range of saxophone stylings. apologies for including other instruments that might not be saxes. more to come (someday but not soon)
