Sermon: Worship of the Living God

Last week we heard from Elliot Vanhoy about the kingdom of God and that we, however undeserving , are invited into this incredible kingdom. Today we pick up on that thought and explore a simple but important question. If we are invited into God’s kingdom what happens then in the kingdom? Simply put what happens in the kingdom of God is worship of the king. We’ll see that this worship is external, it’s personal, it’s sustaining, and it’s missional. To help us understand this we’ll be spending some time, primarily in the text from Isaiah.
If you’re not familiar with the Old Testament or this guy named Isaiah, briefly what you should know is that Isaiah lived roughly 700 years before Jesus Christ was born and he was a Prophet meaning that God spoke through him a specific message. You might hear him referred to as a major prophet and all that means is that he was simply long winded! A major prophet’s books are simply longer then what some people call the minor prophets.
