Today we’ve come to the end of the beginning. Today is our final sermon in a series, walking our way through the book of Genesis. A series we started 8 ½ months ago looking at not just the beginning of creation but the beginning of humanity, the beginning of sin, of redemption, the beginning of God’s great call to a people so that, in time, they would be a blessing to the entire world. Today we finish this book of beginnings.
Genesis finishes opposite to the way it begins. The opening chapters of Genesis show us one brother who murders the other over the jealousy of his offering. Genesis ends with the story of Joseph and his brothers reconciling and a great summary statement of the entire book.
"As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today." Genesis 50:20
