January 2005 - created over a few angry, booze fueled nights. It already looked as if my days as a superstar DJ were over (an assumption which turned out to be correct), so I didn't feel the need to make something safe and dancey to make narrow minded club promoters and their ilk take notice. This was my "year zero", sort of... technically interesting, self-indulgent and *very* personal. This has nothing to do with the 'bootleg/m*sh*p' rubbish that had gone before.
There are many parts of this mix that still bring a smirk to my face... I'm particularly fond of the part where things get really intense, as Mario Savio's 1964 speech to student activists at Berkeley combines with Vitalic's 'Fanfares'. 'Your Love' coming in over Blackstrobe's DM remix. The opening of Cabaret Voltaire's incredible 'Nag Nag Nag' being stretched over one of Soulwax's finest moments. Getting my favourite dance tune in history on there ('Hardcore Uproar'). The semi-ironic use of A House...
