Fred Wesley Contributions, Part 1

Fred Wesley Contributions, Part 1

Legendary band leader, arranger and trombonist Fred Wesley ist best known for his work with The Godfather Of Soul, James Brown. Nevertheless this threepart radio program focuses on Wesley's numerous other contributions. Two parts will contain some James Brown productions though. The collaborations of Wesley and Brown of course have become classics for good reason, but sometimes Mr. Wesley is unfairly reduced to his 7 year period with The Godfather. In fact, he's been composing and making music for more than 50 years now. So this playlist shall take you to the next level of listening to Wesley's uniquely inspiring music. So far, friendly Fred has lent his talent to artists around the world on more than 150 albums! For your "infotainment" I have picked 60 masterpieces with 4 and a half hours of mostly funky but also jazzy Wesley-related grooves. All with the man himself!
