I will have more Funk soon but I do enjoy other things, too :-) and I generally just play what comes to my mind. Creating and following themes helps me to explore my steadily growing collection in a better way. It‘s fun. Anyhow, simply press the play button and ...

The Soul Preacher

Still fresh, indeed! Thanks, Dave!

Down In The Valley

I always wondered where 3rd Bass got the sample for Herbalz In Your Mouth.
Great mix. Thanks.

The Soul Preacher

I don't know 3rd Bass but I'd guess things like that happen very frequently. Tracy Chapman’s "FAST CAR“ currently is a huge hit of Jonas Blue as a kind of "house version“(?). The youth loves it but they’ve never heard of Tracy Chapman. Same for Chaka Khan’s hit with Rufus: AIN’T NOBODY. Most young people will say it is by Felix Jaehn ... Thanks for listening!

Down In The Valley

José Feliciano - I‘ll Be Your Baby Tonight, was sampled by Hip Hop trio 3rd Bass back in 1991.

Fun stuff to come across for someone who came up in the early Hip Hop generation. I'm a fan of Jose, just not sure how this one skipped by me.

The Soul Preacher

Oh yeah, my favorite album of him is "A BAG FULL OF SOUL", 1968 RCA. And a live appearance in Atlanta GA in 1972 (as part of a Martin Luther King tribute). I'LL BE YOUR BABY TONIGHT was taken from the sampler "José' Feliciano 16 Top Tracks".
