Do you know someone with epilepsy? Chances are you do, as one in 100 people in the UK are living with the condition. But how much do you know about the risks involved in epilepsy? Sophie Hawkins is 21 years old, and in January 2013 her best friend Ellis Powell died from Sudden Unexpected Death In Epilepsy, which claims the lives of 600 people in the UK each year. We follow her as she speaks about Ellis with the people that knew her best, find out more about the risks of epilepsy from the Charity SUDEP Action, and as she skydives from 12,000feet to raise money for Sudep action in Ellis’ memory. She started by asking Ellis’ mum Sharon Cole how epilepsy affected her daughter’s life.
