@womeninsoundzine is a bi-weekly show from the NY zine dedicated to women and non-binary people in all areas of live and recorded sound.
On episode 3, Brooklyn-based composer, audio engineer, and musician Dana Wachs joins to discuss how texture plays into her creative process, and unpacks the many tracks she’s worked on. Influenced by touring the world mixing concerts for artists like St. Vincent, Jon Hopkins, Yves Tumor, and MGMT, Dana's sound embraces improvisation and combines winding, hazy, honeyed melodies with strong, industrial-toned riffs, using her favorite equipment like the omnichord and moogerfooger.
