very good show
You're the greatest living radio DJ! Trust me. I actually enjoy your shows, where you broadcast My Music. No one else could do it.
Just listened to this, brilliant show, evoked fond memories !
Blitzkreig Bop split before I started at Teesside Poly in the autumn of '79. Saw some great bands while at college in Middlesbrough though. Those in the Mod camp included a great local three piece band called The Sines (echoes of the Jam), while national profile bands included The Crooks in the Student's Union Bar, and over at The Rock Garden The Chords and UB40 promoting their debut single. Were we really dancing at the front of the stage to the latter in a near empty venue?
Loving it!
Still get goosebumps when I hear Time for Action!
Marvellous stuff GC!!
The Smirks record, OK UK...not heard that since it was on John Peel, must have been 1979? That's why this show rules.
Great show. I too remember how tribal it was then, you had to be a decent runner!
We are the mods ..... Another cracker of a show GC
