I'm not sure if you're familiar with the psychotropic drug DMT, but essentially it's a short sharp mindfuck. People used to call it Businessman's Acid as you could knock it back, commune with the machine elves of hyperspace for 20-30 minutes and be back at your desk by the time your lunch hour is up.
Anyway, why the diversion into pharmacological phun and games you ask? Well it's all because this week's mix, assembled by Dam Mantle, is the sonic equivalent of DMT, disorientating, a little bewildering, lots of fun and lasts just 30 minutes.
New kid on the block Dam Mantle has only recently made the swap from post-rock'ism to laptop trickery, but already his electronic excursions are getting noticed by all the right people (like us!).
Give it a week or two and someone will have lumped him in with Gold Panda and we'll be breathily talking about a NEW SCENE, but for now enjoy his mix and then go buy his new record the Grey EP out now on Halleluwah Hits.
