Do Hits is a label, currently led by artists Howie Lee and Guzz, based out of Beijing that showcases a variety of producers creating electronic music. Originally starting as a DJ party at punk club in Beijing, it has become a label that expresses a new underground sound in China. This underground sound is one that strays from the sounds of mainstream western EDM, house, and techno music that proliferate the nightlight of Beijing. A reoccurring theme noticed in many releases by Do Hits is a grappling with globalization and futurism. Chinese culture and global cultures meld together in dynamic ways. As with other parts of the world, technological development is occurring at an extremely rapid pace and Do Hits reconciles this idea of the future with the present and the past of China.
