In Jesus’ ministry in Galilee he had touched many people, but the people in his hometown are left untouched because of their unbelief. They were numbed by their familiarity with Jesus. We take things for granted in our lives all the time: things and people. Believers today can take Jesus for granted when they lose the wonder of his grace. Non-believers take Jesus for granted by accepting false assumptions frequently propounded. Truth can be inconvenient, but the consequences are grave. Jesus will find our unbelief unbelievable. Faith is the most humbling and God exalting thing you can do. And when you humble yourself, God will exalt you as he exalted Christ. So there are two options: 1) Grow numb to Jesus. 2) Bow before Jesus.
