After describing the evil of men in the last times, this passage ends with, “Avoid such men as these,” indicating men were like that when this was written. But it began with, “In the last days, difficult times will come,” indicating something in the future. So which is it? My hypothesis is that people like this have always existed, but will become more prevalent in the last days. Which causes me to question, what are we like now?
