We hear the account of the woman who had to wait twelve years for a cure that was not to come. She spent all she had visiting countless doctors, and yet her condition only grew worse. Then she hears about Jesus. And in quite desperation, in desperate and daring faith, she reaches out to to touch his clothes, and she is cured. She waited twelve long years, but now finally she is healed. That is a long time to wait. But yet, she is not the only one waiting in our gospel. Jairus is also waiting. Waiting while his 6th grader is lying motionless on her little bed. Jesus talking to this woman, probably only took a few minutes at most, but to Jairus, it must have felt like an eternity.
