Scripture: HEBREWS 11:1-3
“Faith”: it’s a word that gets bandied about in a variety of contexts in our lives. We may say we have faith in the Cavaliers, though that gets slightly harder after Game 1 of the NBA Finals. We may say we have faith in a spouse or a child who is undertaking something strenuous and challenging—‘I have faith that they’ll do well on the SAT,’ or ‘in the presentation at work.’ Or in a general way, we may say we have faith that things will all work out well and that everything will be OK.
Those of us who proclaim a Christian faith may take this further and say we have faith that God will work things out or do as we hope. One of the bedrock affirmations of people of faith is a trust that God will take care of us, that God will not let us
