Holding in and holding back - does this sound familiar? All of us, to one degree or another have learned from infancy to retract, hold in, close down, and in all ways withdraw from what we presume is a source of pain or fear. This is a built-in survival technique common to us all. This is instinctive, but we grow to adulthood with those defensive systems still in place and assumed to be necessary.
Now we want to see if they really are necessary, or instead a saboteur of our peace. Today’s guest writes of his extreme, constant, and pronounced holding in but without realizing all the distress that is causing him.
