For the third year we make September all about strings. I've always been moved by this sort of music, so we pay special attention at this time.
I couldn't decide on one piece by Ennio Morricone so you ended up with two - I don't think you'll be sad about it. Gorgeous folk music from Iceland in the form of Ólöf Arnalds, who I was lucky enough to see this week - seek out her new album Innundir Skinni which also features a little appearance from label mate Bjork. One of my favourite tracks off Bonobo's last album is here alongside a fair few Ninja Tune offerings. The classic Cinematic Orchestra/Roots Manuva track and something brand new from Ninja in the form of the much anticipated Floating Points Ensemble recording Post Suite.
We finish up with one of my favourite vocalists of all time Sarah Vaughan, stunning jazz vocals and strings.
I hope you enjoy. Back to normal next month. As ever, this is available to download from my own site http://www.scrimshire.com
