Episode 6 Part 2: Sapuri revists the Vital Signs' Bazaar

The Vital Signs was/ 'were' Pakistan's first proper, modern pop band. Their first hit (which is still their biggest hit to date) was the iconic 'Dil Dil Pakistan' that is rightfully an anthem of sorts now. Their follow up album featured a very interesting track called 'Bazaar', which had this really cool and different, lively sound to it. The lyrics were also very interesting, given that this was a group of 4 boys living in one of the nicest parts of Pakistan, educated from the nicest universities in the country- singing about girls experiencing the big city for the first time. I haven't been able to remix it properly, but I just mashed it up in Abelton Live for the show this week, and it (if I do say so myself!), lined itself up surprisingly well for blending into Oceanlab's "Sophie", which is remixed in this case by the prolific Michael Cassette.

BTW, the original guitarist from Vital Signs went on to form Junoon, and Rohail Hyatt, keyboards and arrangement, went on to start up Coke Studio, one of Pakistan's most professionally produced music shows. His son is also a musician, and plays in the bands Mole, and Dalt Wisney, based out of Karachi I believe.
