Lyle sounds like an very interesting Canadian individual from across the pond. I've been listening to your country show and really enjoy it. However, LYLE cannot sing by ANY stretch of the imagination! Lyle's voice lacks melody and the rasp in his voice sounds like he gargles with lighter fluid. For the most part, Lyle spoke his lyrics. At points in his songs it is evident where he was trying to reach melodically but he consistently fell short of the pitch! The 3 original songs Lyle played were amateurish and lacked any poetic statement or clear melodic structure. The guitar playing was more consistent than the vocals but the chord progressions were simple and lacked interest. I can't believe someone like this was let on the air! Lyle seemed more concerned with advertising his book, screenplay, and music. The name dropping made it sound like Lyle is a country music insider but we all know that this is NOT true. Lyle clearly was able to talk his way into interviewing many country music greats based upon the pretext of writing a Roger Miller book. Please NO MORE amateurs. Lyle was an insult to your awesome radio show:)
