This must be one of our favorite mixtapes. While the funk in disco is usually covered by a thick layer of cheap melted cheese, in this mix we leave the cheese in the fridge and instead focus on the raw and funky side of the genre. That side we love to play most.
Going from funky proto disco by the Fatback Band and equally funky sounds by Barry Waite and Funky Nassau to spaced and dubbed out grooves of ESG and the Disco Dub Band back to the chicken scratch guitars, heavy percussion, deep bass lines and the trademark disco beat that makes good disco so irresistible. We finally end with some delicious slices of latin disco.
Or put differently: disco for people who dislike disco.
