The Boomtown Rats, Bruce Cockburn, Oasis, Green Day, Irma Thomas and more.
The Whole Nine Yards: Originally broadcast on Thursday 25th October 2012 7-9pm - Hour One:
To mark the end of British Summer Time the show this week is all about time – songs that mark the passing of time, what time means and how important it is not to waste it. To help us celebrate the passage of time we have invited some of the greatest musicians in the world to bring their tracks to the show – from Oasis to Irma Thomas, Percy Mayfield to Simon & Garfunkel, the Beatles to Jim Croce – and we’ll be playing one of the greatest tracks about time of all time – Who Knows Where the Time Goes? By Sandy Denny. Bob Dylan observes that ‘Tomorrow is a long time’..And this week we’re joined by Owen Vyse and The Daunt Shades (ex Echo and the Bunnymen) who are going to play live in the studio in advance of their big launch gig in Worthing on the 3rd November at St Pauls.
