HOST DISCUSSIONS: Underdog Decisions, Scrap Zero RB?
Nick and Josh kick off the show by first welcoming Josh into the fold as full-time host. They then dive into some decisions made in the divisional round game between the Houston Texans and the New England Patriots and analyze whether Houston should have been more aggressive. They also talk about the reasons why underdog teams use more passive strategies than they should, something that was found by the Harvard Sports Analysis Collective. Next, they talk about Josh's article titled "Is it Time to Scrap Zero RB?" and what the findings were and what the implications are for the Zero RB draft strategy going forward. Nick challenges Josh on some of the concepts of it being a structural strategy, and they talk about why Zero RB is an exploitable strategy instead of a game theory optimal strategy (GTO).
