Gertrude Stein, left, with Alice Toklas and their poodle, Basket.
I think we all know those people who were meant to be together from the start. Everyone who met Gertrude Stein and Alice Toklas knew that these women were perfect for each other. They were the epitome of domestic happiness, always close and always loving. They were two women so confident in their love that they survived World War Two even though they were out Jewish lesbians. That takes confidence.Sources:Malcolm, Janet. Two Lives: Gertrude and Alice. 2007. United States.Souhami, Diana. Gertrude And Alice. 1991. Pandora, Harper Collins. Great Britian.Turner, Kay.
