When the apostle Paul preached and established a new church, and when he visited and encouraged an established church, he did not teach people that they had to be something they were not before their salvation. Paul taught gentiles to not worry about becoming Jewish to be better Christians. And he didn't tell believing Jews to cast aside their Jewishness. Paul allowed new believers to be who they were when God called them.
