Lost In Love - Renaissance The Classics Series - Part 1

Playing tracks by

FLUKE, M-people, Shawn Christopher, Danny Campbell & Sasha, That Kid Chris and more.

This series of mixes is something ive wanted to do for a long time, its my homage to the golden years of the 'Renaissance' sound. My venture in house & club nights started around 1993 with visits to various Renaissance nights at The Leadmill & Lotherton Hall with Sasha & Digweed playing they ignited the passion!

The mix is 100% live using Traktor, its a mixture cd-singles, EP's, artist albums, rare vinyl rips, & even parts of the 'Mix Collection' cd albums. The Series has taken me 6-7 months to collect all the tracks needed for each 2 hour mix but its been worth every minute.

Fans of the original 'Renaissance Mix Collections' surely will find some nods to the original albums, themes, and mixing style. A highly inspired dj mix, bringing homage to a highly inspired era in Electronic Music.

Evokes all sorts of memories. Every time I was lucky enough to see Sasha & Digweed it felt very special and epic. Personally I loved the Ledmill in Shefield as this worked well. Renaissance the Mix collection part 1 has never been bettered as a collection of tunes.

Ha ha, i hear ya rich! The originals can never be bettered for sure pal ;)

The big thing for me was the impact they made on me nearly 20 years ago was immense and back then i always imagined what it would be like to be able mix these great track together so i promised myself one day i would ;)

Just being able to mix "Age of Love" into "2 Bad Mice" & "Rhythm Invention" into "Disco Evangelists" - 2 of my fav mixes on the album made me smile and took me back!!

I also wanted to mix up some of the newer stuff with the older stuff too.

BBQ mixing session is way overdue matey ;)

Tight mixing and tune selection but anyone who know's the original will understand that this is like a new director re-imagining your favourite film, while all the elements will be there you don't get the same feeling. Great for introducing THE mix that started it all to a new generation though, keep up the good work....when are we having a another BBQ mixing session?
