McCARTNEY & WINGS FIRST GIG (eyewitness reminiscence) JIM JACOBS interviewed by RICHARD OLIFF

McCARTNEY & WINGS FIRST GIG (eyewitness reminiscence) JIM JACOBS interviewed by RICHARD OLIFF

Playing tracks by

Paul McCartney and Paul McCartney & Wings.

One man’s story of Paul McCartney and Wings’ first ever gig.
Nottingham University 9th February 1972, the 21st birthday of one audience member.
These are the impromptu eyewitness reminiscences (40 years to the day) of Nottingham student Jim Jacobs: 9th February 2012. Interviewed by Richard Oliff. Note: "Give Ireland Back to the Irish (version)" was the 'B' side: NOT 'C Moon' lol!
McCartney had formed Wings for the purpose of having a band to go on the road with, and he wasted no time in doing just that. From 2nd to 7th February 1972, Wings held rehearsals for the tour at London's Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA). The rehearsals were filmed by Tyncho Films, and titled by McCartney as The ICA Rehearsal, and features footage of: "The Mess", "Wild Life", "Bip Bop", "Blue Moon of Kentucky", "Maybelline", "Seaside Woman", "My Love", SEE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNfxKXROxiE&list=PLYa2pS8954HFWnC1uige24Luusq2MAt2M&index=1
