East Asia PhoNographic Mornings #12 - Bernard Fort "TAÏG" - Sunday 29th March 2020

http://www.espaces-sonores.com/stphane-marin-eng presents a weekly series of fifteen short soundscapes recorded in the mornings at various locations throughout East Asia. This series for Resonance Extra forms part of a wider project, 'Each Morning of the World', which invites sound artists, composers and recordists globally to share their own specific point of listening, either through a raw field recording or original composition.

Sunrise near Lake Khövsgöl in Mongolia.

Right in the north of Mongolia, on the border with Russian Siberia, the forest descends to the edges of the big lake Khövsgöl. Here, in summer, live the last Tsaatans, reindeer and horse breeders. In winter, they will join the deep forest. The meeting of the forest (mainly larches), with this immense lake, gives a quite remarkable acoustics in which forest and aquatic sounds mix.
