RAMONES 40th Anniversary Show;Hey! Ho! Let's Go: Ramones and the Birth of Punk

Join Holly Stephey & Spencer Drate as we talk to Queens Museum guest curator Marc H. Miller , Monte Melnick (Ramones' tour manager) about the Ramones two-part exhibition celebrating the lasting influence of punk rock progenitors the Ramones. The exhibition's two parts will share many key objects drawn from more than 50 public and private collection across the world, each will explore the Ramones through a different lens:  In 1976, the Ramones changed music forever with the release of their self-titled debut album. Their minimalist tunes, slapstick lyrics, buzzsaw guitars, and blitzkrieg tempo became the wellspring for a genre of music and a strain of culture.Timed to coincide with the 40th anniversary of that album’s release, Hey! Ho! Let's Go: Ramones and the Birth of Punk explores the lasting influence the punk rockers had on their hometown, from their start in Queens to their history-making performances at CBGB, highlighting their musical achievements, and placing a special influence
