For our final day in Barcelona we welcome two RBMA alumni. At the top of the show, joining Vivian is Parissiene producer, singer and songwriter Oklou, AKA Marylou Mayniel. Now based in London, Oklou creates beguiling electro-pop that draws listeners in with its hazy atmospheres and intimate reflections. Her unique sound — with an inviting exterior and stoic interior — is a product of her rich and varied musical upbringing: She started playing piano at five and only five years ago “discovered" Logic. Oklou will unpack her creative process, discuss her latest EP, _Rite of May_, and talk about her radio crew, TGAF (These Girls Are on Fiyah). Later in the show, trumpeter and composer Emma-Jean Thackray steps in. Having studied at both the Royal Welsh College of Music and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, Thackray's training is rooted in tradition, yet her brand of jazz rarely follows the rules of what came before.
