During the Vietnam War the tiny country of Laos was meant to be “neutral” but that was far from the truth. Between early 1960 and 1975 America waged a major covert war in Laos involving both the recruiting and training of a local army and an extensive bombing campaign, which left the nation and people shattered. While in Laos last month President Obama, acknowledged America’s role in the war and pledged 90 million dollars to help clear Laos of unexploded bombs. The story of a small nation’s struggle to survive in the eye of the Cold War.
