Atlanta June (a seventies rock/funk/soul/jazz-fusion set)

Atlanta June (a seventies rock/funk/soul/jazz-fusion set)

Playing tracks by

Scarlet Rivera, Stanley Clarke, T-Connection, The Crusaders, Minnie Riperton & Rotary Connection and more.

The origin of this rock/funk/soul/jazz fusion set dates back to May of 1978 and was originally created on the Teac 3340. Some of the mixes were recreated for the Mixcloud set, Stoned Soul, uploaded in 2012, so aren’t included here (except Gypsy Man). Otherwise, the set is basically the same as the original tape-based set from 1978. We start with Scarlet Rivera from her 1978 album, Scarlet Fever; then, Stanley Clarke from his 1978 album, Modern Man; a classic seventies club mix by T-Connection from their 1977 album, Magic; The Crusaders from their 1972 self-titled album; Minnie Riperton & Rotary Connection from their 1970 album, Dinner Music; Isaac Hayes from his 1971 album, Black Moses; Marc Tanner Band from their 1979 album, No Escape; The Cate Brothers Band from their 1977 self-titled album; Pablo Cruise from their 1977 album, A Place in the Sun; War from their 1973 album, Deliver The Word; and The Temptations from their 1970 album, Psychedelic Shack.
