Sunday Old School Mix

Sunday Old School Mix

About the show

Playing tracks by

Zero B, Quadrophonia, DJ Phantasy & DJ Seduction, Kicks Like A Mule, Kid Unknown and more.

Let me take you back to where all the happy stuff started.

The mix starts chill but it kicks in after 10 minutes or so (after the story).

Some of these are first tracks by legends 2 Bad Mice, The Prodigy, and the Golden Girls (aka Orbital). Others are pioneers like DJ Seduction, DJ SS, and DJ Phantasy whose mad breaks started the jungle / drum & bass movement.

Other secret sauce: super joyful classics like "Different Strokes" by Isotonik, "Far Out" by Sons of a Loop da Loop Era, and Convert's "Nightbird". For the techno trippers there's "A Trip to Trumpton", "This is Mutha F**ker", and "Nightmare". For the truly old school, I slipped in Quadrophonia, Altern 8, and (gasp!) Apotheosis. And to be authentic, I avoided the expired crust of "James Brown is Dead" and instead served up the well-aged "The Return of Godzilla".

128-148 bpm. 94 min. All vinyl.

...this mix takes me back...good tune selection too! Like the mix between 2BadMice & Seduction...might try and track down the Dance Conspiracy tune as well now - one of my favourites!
