Two hours of music that cannot and will not be put into a box.
Always good to be prompted to return to Lizard - one of my favourite Crimson albums, even if the band themselves (esp. Gordon Haskell) seem to dislike it! (See Sid Smith's excellent In the Court of King Crimson.) (Please indulge me with a shameless plug for my own Fripp mix: https://www.mixcloud.com/hortonmorton/the-hidden-hand-of-fripp/ ) Nice to hear Humdrum too, from the similarly overlooked PG 1, and to see Spiro get a look in. An enjoyable show, as ever.
Hardly surprising that Haskell isn't a fan of Lizard. The biggest mystery is how he ever fell into Fripp's orbit in the first place, given the way his own musical direction developed! Good to see that Fripp's own attitude towards the album had softened when the remaster came out. I still think it's one of Crimson's finest achievements. And thanks for the support!
